Two working group reports published

Posted on: 01-04-2013

The FELASA working group on animal identification and the working group on refinement of genotyping methods of genetically modified rodents published their final reports almost back-to-back in Laboratory Animals. The genotyping paper summarizes the currently available methods for obtaining genotype information. It provides updated guidelines concerning DNA sampling and genotyping, and the information to be kept and distributed for any mutated rodent strain. In the identification paper advantages and disadvantages of various methods are presented. The report is intended as a practical guide for researchers. New upcoming methods have been included next to the traditional techniques.
