Statement on the European Parliament ‘Written declaration on primates in scientific experiments’
FELASA views with concern the European Parliament “Written declaration on the use of primates in scientific experiments”. The major statements made in the declaration regrettably give a misleading impression of the current state of affairs regarding the use of non-human primates in scientific procedures and of the considerable efforts that are being made by the scientific community to ensure that the 3Rs of replacement, reduction and refinement are adopted wherever this is possible in the context of the scientific objectives.
